new film, HIS ONLY SON, which is a film about Abraham and
Isaac!
• Moms, this is a movie you won’t want to miss! There are few things more powerful
than a mother's love for her son. Take your family to see this film, and be inspired
by Isaac and Sarah's relationship in His Only Son, coming to theaters March 31.
• For the first time in a feature film, the controversial account of Abraham and Isaac
will be brought to life, one that everyone can draw inspiration from.
• Short Synopsis: After being called on by the Lord, Abraham's faith is tested on his
three day journey to sacrifice his son.
• Long Synopsis: His Only Son recounts one of the most controversial moments in the
Old Testament—when Abraham was commanded by God to sacrifice his son Isaac on
the mountain of Moriah. While traveling to the place of the sacrifice, alongside Isaac
and two servants, Abraham is flooded with vivid memories from the years he and
Sarah spent longing for the son they were promised—the son he must now lay upon
the altar.
My Thoughts:
I am so excited to share this movie with you. The story of Abraham and Issac is one of my favorites. There is a gospel song about this story line that has been a favorite for many years. This movie puts images to the Bible story so you can envision Abraham and his journey. Sometimes the people around Abraham made me so mad with their responses, of course at times I was left disappointed in Abraham also. But we are all broken people striving to do our best and we often falter. It is easy in hindsight to know the right choices to make and the right things to say and do. I encourage you to take your family to see this family friendly movie. This would be a great opportunity for a church youth outing to go watch this movie.
