I found out last night that a young man I knew had killed himself yesterday. I feel so sad and burdened because of this. Every time you met this man he was smiling, singing and witnessing for the Lord. Yet somehow Satan managed to win this battle. (The thief comes only to steal and destroy (John 10:10).)
Please always remember to pray for your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, you don't know what battle they are going through in their day to day life. Someone once told me that suicide is a permanant solution to a temporary problem. There have been times in my life when I considered this option but somehow kept going. Had I choose that way there is much joy I would have missed out on in the last few years. If you are thinking of this as a way of escaping your pain, please think about it some more. There are people who care about you. Even if you are surrounded by those who don't care there is Someone above who is always there to listen and to make a way of escape for you. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into he world to condemn the world, but to save the world through them. Whoever believes in him is not condemned.” (John 3: 16-18)
One characteristic of someone who chooses suicide is because they have known someone who died by suicide. If you have children, think of them. Statistics show that a child who has a parent commit suicide is more likely to commit suicide themselves. Basically you have told that child that they aren't worth living for.
“Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus or Lord.” (Romans 8:39)
Please please seek someone else's help with your burden before you choose this final step. There isn't a second chance.
