Tropicana Vitamin C & Zinc

What do we want three times as much of in the morning? Sleep mostly. If that’s out of the question (and just to be clear, it is right? OK, moving on), then three times as much Vitamin C in our OJ is the next best thing. Made without added sugars, water or preservatives, Tropicana Vitamin C & Zinc has 3x as much Vitamin C as regular OJ. This delicious 100% orange juice is made with fresh squeezed oranges and is an excellent source of Vitamin C and good source of zinc to help support a health immune system.

It was so neat to get a package in the mail that contained cold Tropicana Vitamin C & Zinc. Unboxing was fun. Since winter has started I was glad to get to try this new juice option out as a way to help support my immune system. I hate getting sick so I like to try food and drinks that help me stay healthier. This juice was very tasty and so good cold. I like to have my juice served over crushed ice.  I recommend you buy some to try and see how it works for your family.

Hemisfares Gelato and Kroger

The Slow-Churned Facts

It’s taken Italians hundreds of years to perfect the art of gelato making, and you can taste that mastery in every sublime spoonful of NEW! HemisFares™ Gelato. Slow-churned with regionally sourced ingredients, here are some details to share about each of the imported flavors:

Nocciola con Praline (Italian Hazelnut)
With the finest hazelnuts from select Sicilian regions

Limone Crème (Lemon Creme)
With sun-drenched lemons from select Sicilian regions

Pistacchio (Pistachio)
With pistachios from the Catania province of Sicily

Stracciatella (Dark Chocolate Flake)
With the finest dark chocolate pieces

Cappuccino (Cappuccino Chocolate Chip)
With robust espresso coffee from Palermo

Cioccolato (Chocolate)
With the finest Italian cocoa

My Thoughts:
My local Kroger store only had 3 flavors. Pistacchio, Capppuccino and Cioccolato.  I thought the one I would like the most from those flavors would be the Cioccolato. It was very rich and creamy but for the size of container the price seemed too high for me. I would buy this again if it were on sale and I had a coupon but otherwise I would pass it by.

Get a digital coupon from Kroger to buy your own container of gelato and see which flavor is your favorite, use the code GELATO to get $1 off any one Hemisfares™ item

HemisFares™ BzzCampaign

HemisFares™ Dry Pasta Facts

Ready to impress friends with your noodle know-how? Here’s what you can share about each of the imported dry pastas from the NEW HemisFares™ line:

Fusilli Bucati Lunghi

16 oz. for $3.99
From Campania, Italy, this long pasta was first made by twisting a pasta thread around a fuse or a spindle.

Orecchiette

12 oz. for $2.99
The distinctive rounded shape of this imported pasta was inspired by the roofs of ancient Apulian houses, called trulli. It comes from the Puglia region and its name is translated as “little ear.”

Rigatoni

12 oz. for $2.99
Hailing from the Lazio region of Italy, this tubular pasta comes from the Italian word “rigati,” which means ridged.

Tagliatelle

9 oz. for $3.99
From the Marché region, this egg-based pasta was originally crafted by generations of local women from Campofilone (and is produced there to this day!). It’s made from durum wheat and over 35% eggs, then worked by hand without the addition of any water.

Anelli Giganti

12 oz. for $2.99
This authentic pasta shape originated in Southern Italy; it’s produced with the highest quality ingredients before being bronze cut, leaving it with rough, porous edges to better catch and hold sauces.

Chifferini

12 oz. for $2.99
Originally from the southern island of Sicily, this half-moon-shaped, ridged pasta has a very long drying process — resulting in a strong color and a rich, hearty flavor.
All of the HemisFares™ dry pastas are made by local, artisanal producers in Italy using traditional Gragnano style methods — the highest quality production process for pasta. The machines they use cannot produce more than a few hundred pounds of pasta an hour (compared to tons of pasta at industrial companies). The pasta is then dried for 12–14 hours (compared to 4–6 hours) at a lower temperature to preserve the authentic flavor and natural nutritional value of the wheat used.

My thoughts
The only other noodles I've ever found that are this good were in the freezer. These noodles have a good homemade flavor. They cooked perfect al dente without getting mushy. They were also good warmed up the next day for lunch. I  had never heard of HemisFare pastas before this and had no idea what to expect. I did not know that this was a product of the Kroger brand as well.

My Thoughts
I love cereal. I eat it about any time of day. There are days that for dinner, I will eat a bowl of cereal. So I think that makes me something of a cereal connoisseur. Frosted shredded wheat happens to be one of my favorite varieties and I was excited to get to try the #WeightWatchersCereal variety. I hate spending my money on something and not liking it and diet type products tend to be one of those items I really hate trying because usually you can tell food is diet. But the frosted shredded wheat did not taste at all like a diet cereal. I think if you did a blind taste test and compared it with another brand you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. So it taste good and is good for you, win win in my opinion.

VIDAL SASSOON SALONIST PERMANENT HAIR COLOR Review

IT’S MORE THAN COLOR. IT’S A WORK OF ART.

Vidal Sassoon Salonist Permanent Hair Color is the first at-home hair color to treat roots and lengths separately, as done in salons, with a revolutionary 2-step process that uses salon techniques and tools. The result is color full of depth and tones, seamlessly blended from root to tip.
In our family, dyeing our own hair just comes natural. I have been dying my own hair for over 20 years now. I bet I have dyed hair for a dozen people or more. I was so glad to get a chance to try out the Vidal Sassoon Salonist Permanent Hair color. I wasn't given a choice of any shade similar to my own hair so I picked one that my oldest daughter could use. She was born blonde but once she got to be a preteen it started to darken. She just looks better as a blonde so she likes it dyed. The conditioner in the kit made her hair the softest most touchable its ever been.
Here is a video on tips for coloring hair that has been previously dyed.

Covergirl Face Make Up Review

Recently I was sent a couple of products to try for Covergirl. I got  COVERGIRL + Olay FaceLift Effect and Cover Girl + Olay De-Puffer Concealer. I love makeup and love trying new products out all the time. I own way more makeup than anyone should have but I just love it.

The COVERGIRL + Olay FaceLift Effect was a bit lighter than what I normally wear which is odd since it was medium and I am always so pale. But once I was completely made up, it wasn't too bad. I loved how the foundation felt on my skin and how it moistened it. Now that I am in my 40's my skin tends to be a bit drier. I can't say that I noticed any facelifting effect but I don't have but a couple of eye wrinkles so that could be a factor.

I have terrible dark circles under my eyes. Its part heredity and partly health issues. People are always commenting on them and wanting to know if I am ok. I used the Cover Girl + Olay De-Puffer Concealer before church and I got so many compliments on how good I looked and how I must be feeling better. Cover Girl + Olay De-Puffer Concealer did a great job of masking my dark circles. I explained to the women that it was my new Cover Girl + Olay De-Puffer Concealer I was trying out for Bzz. I just let the men think I looked that good naturally lol.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free from Bzzz . Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Review of Last Week

I am so bummed. I had my laptop in the shop but the man said it needs a new motherboard and would cost $300 to fix. Its only a year and a half old but now they are so cheap it just isn't worth buying a motherboard to fix it with. So I am going to have to save up for a new laptop. He did get my battery fully charged on it so I can save my files to a couple thumb drives though so that is a blessing.

We did have one of those great coupon revelation moments though. A couple of weeks ago, Kroger had a sale on Lysol Wipes. They were on sale for $1.99 but if you bought 5 you got $5 off so that made the sale price .99 for each roll. I had coupons for .50 off 2 so that made them be .50 a canister. Yesterday we were going through the store and the Lysol Wipes were back to their original price of $2.99. My oldest and I talked about how much nicer it was to only pay .50 and stock up so we didn't have to pay $2.99. There are only 5 in this picture but we really bought 6.
I also got a product sample in the mail to test out and then do a survey on. Its not a review but one of those anonymous survey things. I also got a really cool back to school lunch box kit called Kroger Lunchbox Heroes from Bzz to try out. Naturally the grandbabies were thrilled. We got a package of cheese flavored peanut butter filled pretzel bites and 4 coupons for free products plus a slew of coupons off the products to share with friends. I love Bzz and have gotten a lot of really great products from there to review and try out.

Here are the great prizes I won last week- I sure do appreciate all the wonderful blogs and their sponsors. Winning products makes my life so much better since it saves me money, and lets me try product that I otherwise wouldn't be able to.

A coupon for a box of Borax from Nikki Knack's Reviews- I love Borax and use it to make my detergent.

A children's book called The Ruby Red Slippers from Women's Intution- I think my oldest granddaughter will love to read this one with me.

A coupon for a bar of Fels Naptha soap from Looking forward to becoming more frugal
