Car wreck and a win

 

My daughter and I were hit by another car on February 12th 2024 on our way home from work. It hit on my side and the fire department had to cut me out of the blazer.  It was super scary and 3 weeks later I still find it hard to sleep.  We only had liability insurance so now we have no car. I have no idea how on earth we are going to be able to afford another vehicle but I keep looking and hoping for the best. 

On the plus side I did win $1000 from Coors light in a contest I entered last year. Haven't gotten the money yet but it will go in the car replacement fund.

Honestly, it's been so long since I won anything I was starting to feel like I would never win again :).  But I have been busy with work. We have opened a flea market booth so my daughter has been working there selling all the excess stuff we have and I have been covering most of her hours at work. This has left me exhausted. My health isn't the greatest so most days I come home and go straight to bed

8-14-23-- I got a surprise win delivered by UPS when I got home from work. I won a dog bar from Tito Vodka. It is so adorable.

Today would have been my dad's 71st birthday. Happy Heavenly Birthday Dad

 I was starting to feel like I was never going to win again. It had been almost 3 weeks since my last win.  I did get the gaming head set I won a couple months ago and we used the Chili's gift card I won to pick up dinner.

1. $15 Venmo from Tincup Whiskey but I think I put the wrong phone number in so might not get this one. (

2. Oddly enough less than an hour after using the Chili's gift card I won back in June, I won another Chili's gift card on Twitter.

5. $25 Amazon gift card and a character in next book named for me-- I might be a dork but I think this is probably the coolest prize I have won. I didn't think it would be that big a deal until I won lol

The dry spell has finally ended. It was 9 days since I won anything. I hate when that happens.

Well it hasn't been a winning week. Not a single prize :( My cousin did win on a contest I told him to enter if that counts. He won a backyard barbeque from a local tv station. We thought they bought like Dickie's barbeque and brought to you but no, they are coming Thursday to cook at our house and do a short video. They bring all the food they say to feed up to 10 people but not drinks or dishes. Going to take them 90 minutes they say. I would not have entered or told him to enter if I had known that. We have to get the porch all cleaned up, grass mowed etc so we can be camera ready. And he isn't thrilled about having to be on tv. Food had better be good is all I can say. 

I did get the Hunts Brothers Pizza Fan of the week pack I won last week. It had lots of nice stuff. 2 die cast cars, a hand towel, a calendar, can koozie, couple of key rings, magnets, stickers, sunglasses, 2 really nice shirts. 

I also got the package that the dogs won on Instagram.  It had 2 kinds of treats, several toys and some other things to make dog life easier

1. Got an email saying I won a Hunt Brothers Pizza No. 4 fan pack. No idea where I signed up at though. Guess we shall see what is the prize when it comes

2. Won a $15 Visa prepaid card from  Corona - I immediately used to buy an Amazon card. Thats what I almost always do with these things so I don't forget about them. 

3. A wax warmer and Tapestry from Legacy of the Luna by Lorelie Weston giveaway (my first win for July)

4. Won a $5 gift card from my choice of vendor from Christina Farley- Naturally I choose Amazon. 

this is the shaving set I won on twitter a couple weeks ago. Its really nice but way out of my budget. Retail cost is about $104.something.. I love the smell and its a great razor but I won't be able to reorder from them. But if you can afford that price then its a great kit. Also they show a picture on the website with all the products sitting in the bag but thats about all they do is sit. You can't zip them up inside the bag they don't fit. Looks like they would have made the bag a bit bigger.

I only had a couple wins this week but did get a couple prizes in the mail from past wins.  I got the pringles I won on Instagram a couple months ago, I got a book and candy bar I won last week,  and I got the awesome robot vacuum I won last week.

I could just cry. I checked my spam folder for my yahoo mail and on May 2nd I got a notice that I had won a a Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro and custom-made U.S. Soy cutting board (Grand Prize #2). I only had until the 3rd to respond so I lost out on that prize. That was over 400 prize. 

But on the plus side I got the prize I won last week and it was super nice. Valued over 1500. See pics below.

I am starting to feel a bit discouraged. Not much happening contest wise. Won one tiny prize since last week. I spend anywhere from 1-5 hours a day contesting so it seems like I should win a bit more often but I guess it is what it is. I keep entering because for sure you can't win if you don't enter. So for all of us not winning, keep on trying.

I met the nicest young lady yesterday and she does the marketing for Texas Roadhouse. She is a very driven lady with goals all laid out. Her job currently is to take free rolls and cinnamon butter and give out to businesses and pass out cards for free appetizers. Now thats a nice job because I am sure everyone always wants to see her coming. 

Winnings have been slim pickings this week. I won one contest but it did have a fast turn around because I already got my book and candies. 

1. I won a copy of a book called Eggs and some egg candies. I haven't started the book yet but the candies are pretty good. They are gummy and marshmallow flavored.
