Chats on the Farmhouse Porch 77

Everyday Ruralty

I am asking a favor of everyone this week. I entered my little dog in a contest on Facebook and would really appreciate it if you have a Facebook account and would vote for her.  Also I am going to see about a job today. Its an office assistant position at the local senior center here. I really think I would be good at this. I have the office skills and years ago I used to sit with elderly ladies. Growing up I used to visit all the little old women in my neighborhood on a daily basis. I probably spent more time with then kids my age. My grandmother raised me so thats probably why. This job is in walking distance to my house and without a car I need that until I can get a new motor for my car. Plus it would be so awesome for my new healthy lifestyle.  I want want want this job. Please say a prayer that God will give me favor and bless me with this job. Ok, on to the chat.

1. Do you eat eggs? What is your favorite way to serve them?
I love eggs and eat them about any way you cook them except restaurant style omelet. I have to have my omelets cooked on both sides.

2. Do you have a favorite item that you really like having around? (a pillow, a chair, a sweater, a teddy bear, etc.)
Around as in I have to carry it with me, no. Around as in the house then I have a Pooh Bear from when I was a little girl that I always have with me, yes.

3. Is most of the furniture in your home dark wood, light wood, painted, lacquered, or distressed?
mix of light wood and painted. I don't like darks.

4. Please fill in the rest of this sentence. "I could write a book about____________."
I don't know. I actually want to write a book and years ago someone told me that she had a vision I would write a book but so far no luck.  Based on life, I would say I could write a book on who not to date.

5. If money and calendar/family obligations weren't an issue, would you prefer to spend next weekend at a Bed and Breakfast, a posh hotel, a cabin in the woods, or on a sailboat on a calm body of water? I guess the last thing, the sailboat, would have to be someplace warm. :) (It's 30+ degrees here.)
A posh hotel with a heated indoor pool.  (its 11 degrees here and its so cold even in the house)

They don't cook omelets on both sides in restaurants?! You mean the inside part of the folded omelet? AAAAAAAAAck!!

My one and only time ordering an omelet at a restaurant, I sent it back because it was runny inside and thats when I was informed thats how they are cooked. Where I come from we cook it, flip it over then fill it and fold in half. I like it completely cooked. I haven't ordered another one to see if thats changed.

:D I voted for Maxine! I hope she wins.
I will also pray that you get the job.

I love these Q & A posts! A heated pool sounds great right now.

I think a book on who not to date is needed. Badly.

Great answers!

That's exactly my problem with restaurant eggs. If the top isn't cooked, I usually send it back to have it well done, or I tell them ahead of time.

I certainly will be saying prayers for you regarding this job opportunity. Our DD#1 had terrible difficulties with her car. At the end of last year, she moved within walking distance to her job and then at the beginning of the year a kindly used vehicle purchase landed her lap. It appears things are on the up & up for her. God is so amazing! Thanks for stopping by. Hey, I didn't know you participated in Monday's Music Moves Me. Have you been dancing with us lately? If not, then come join us next week!
