Mini Goals for January

Well yesterday, I posted about my big plans for this year so now I am going to do a mini monthly goal setting post.

1. On the weight loss front I want to
    A. Exercise 2x a week for 20 minutes each time. - considering I am starting from scratching and have been so sick, I didn't want to make it more
    B. Lose 10 lbs- that works out to about a third of a lb a day. But I figure when you first start you end up losing water weight.

2. Get closer to God-
    A. Attend Church every Sunday- I am trying to find a new church I like and feel like is the place God wants me to be so it might be a different church each week.
   B. Memorize 2 new verses this month.

3. Increase income -
    A. I am going to read the want ads daily to see whats available.

4. Fix up the trailer-
    A. Fix up the bathroom. We just replaced the floor so now we need to put down tile and while I am at it I may as well redo the whole room.

5. Date-
    A. I have no clue where to really start with this one, so I am going to say wear make up every time I leave the house. I feel better about myself when I am wearing some make up.
    B. Talk to more people. - I am very shy around new people and so I sometimes come off as snobbish when really I just don't know what to say. I am going to work on being more friendly and talking to more people (men and women). 

ANY TIPS FOR REACHING ANY OF MY GOALS?

Happy New Years

I just love when a new year rolls around. It is just full of such promise and hope. I am one of those people who makes resolutions or as I call them goals. We write out our goals and pack them away with our Christmas decorations so we can read them when we decorate at the end of the year to see how well we did.  Here are my goals for the new year.

Goals for 2014

1. Lose weight- sad to say this is always on my list. Obviously I have yet to achieve this one. But I am believing 2014 will be the year.  I want to lose 100 lbs this year.

 

2. Grow closer to God- its always my goal for each day to become more Christ-like. I want to spend some time working on this one.

 

3. Increase my income- I love my job but I only work 20 hours a week. That just isn't enough money so I am going to try to improve on this. Maybe another part time job since I like my job so much.

 

4. Fix up the trailer or find something better- Honestly the trailer is in such bad shape that I would prefer to find something else and just move. It feels like for everything we do that 5 more things crop up.

 

5. Date- I still am not sure where I am at emotionally but I am tired of staying home and being alone so I need to work on this one.

 

 

 

There you have it folks, the 5 goals for this year. I am hoping to work on each one monthly.   I plan to do a post at the beginning of each month with mini goals related to these goals and each month I will comment on how the previous month went. 

Afraid at the Gas Pumps

 

These days when we think of fear at the pumps we think of gas prices but I had a very scary occurrence on my way to work this morning. I have a praise report this morning. I just thank God for His presence and His watching over me when I am stupid. It was about 7am so still dark.  I will admit I am one of those ppl who doesn't lock the car doors (that changes today). I stopped at the Quik Check to get gas and there was a young man sitting up by the store door. I stopped at the pump and usually I get right out and go in to pay but today I was looking in my purse for the money first. I look up and that man was trying to open my passenger door, just that fast. That was the only door on the car that was miraculously locked. I spoke through the glass to tell him I didn't know him. His response was that didn't matter. Then he goes back to the gas tank and lifts the hose in an attempt to put it in the car. Once again, praise God, the gas tank refused to open (it doesn't lock). I just yelled at him and said never mind I don't have any money and drove away. 

I told a friend that is how fast something can happen and no one be the wiser. There wasn't anyone else on the parking lot. I could see the clerk but she had her back to me and was stocking cigarettes so she didn't even know I had pulled on the lot. So if he had been able to get in the car and we left the lot, there wouldn't have been a clue about it.

Depressed

I was laying in bed last night and suddenly realized that I am depressed. It has just come over me so slowly that I didn't see it. Plus I don't feel sad, I just don't feel.  I was clinically depressed a number of years ago and I can still remember the overwhelming feeling of sadness and just crying all the time. I lost about 50 lbs and wasn't able to function.  I couldn't sleep and would be awake days at a time. I finally went to the dr and they put me on Zoloft and it helped almost immediately.

I guess that's why I didn't get it this time that I am so depressed because I am almost the polar opposite. I sometimes cry a bit at sad stuff but it passes quickly and I go back to my usual numbness. I gained 50 lbs instead of losing it. I sleep all the time and stay home as much as possible. I bitterly resent having to leave the house for anything. I can count on one hand the number of times I saw my best friend this year and she only lives a few miles down the road. I don't go to stores, I send my daughter in for me, mostly. I have stopped going to church. I still talk to God daily but I just don't go to church. I don't keep up with friends online or by calling.

Now that I have realized it, I am going to spend the next week trying to deal with it but if I don't see improvement I am going to call the dr and possibly get some medicine to help.

Pneumonia

I haven't written in ages. I ended up getting pneumonia 2 days before Thanksgiving. I have been so sick and can't seem to bounce back. I have been sick with something almost every day for 2 months now. I keep thinking I am going to work on getting healthier but I just feel so bad that hasn't happened. Of course, honestly while I am feeling so bad really would be the best time. Now I am hurting in my back and leg :(. Next month my insurance kicks in and I am going to see if a chiropractor can help me. I already went to a rheumatoidologist and he basically did nothing but put me on drugs. I am not going to live my life doped up.

My wonderful boss gave me a Christmas bonus that was actually more than my usual payday. I am so thrilled. I am going to use that money to buy a new laptop. I haven't had one since mine died way back in April. I have been looking but there aren't any good deals right now. I guess they figure everyone is buying laptops as presents so they have jacked the prices up. I am ok with waiting until after the holidays to see what I can find.

I have barely been entering any giveaways. Some days I enter nothing at all. You can tell it too because my wins and package deliveries have virtually stopped. I am going to try to get back into a routine and enter some each day. I see a lot on Pinterest. I have discovered the ugliness of humans on those giveaways. Some people have banned me for following their giveaway boards. some waiting until I repinned their pins but then they banned me. A few ppl do something that I consider the same as cheating. Most giveaways give entry points for sharing on pinterest. Yet some ppl waiting until just hours before the giveaway ends before they share. I know sometimes you don't find a giveaway until the last day but there is at least one person I follow who never ever shares anything unless it ends that day. I just think that while it may not be cheating, it certainly isn't good sportsmanship.

Glamour Girl Reviews has a giveaway for Windex Touch Up cleaner- ends tonight December 4, 2013.  I have watched the commercials but never tried this product. I think it sounds pretty cool. We certainly need some germ fighting here. Everyone has been so sick for weeks now and right now I have pneumonia.

Wonderful Craft Idea

I am typing this on December 27th 2012 :) so there is still a lot of Christmas being shared. I found this wonderful craft on another blog, to do with the children and so want to share it with the kids at church in 2013. I thought I would post it here so that everyone could try it out. I wanted to make sure I posted it soon enough that you could get started the first of December. I love the idea of the nightly scriptures for the children to find or you can read to them if they are too young. This helps teach our children what Christmas is really about, gives us some family time to bond, helps us focus on the true meaning of Christmas so its a win win any way you look at it.

I just love to watch Paula Deen, I love her accent and lets face it butter is queen :).   Smithfield Ham's is offering a pdf book called Holiday Hosting with Paula Deen. It has an assortment of ideas and recipes. I found this link in January so I am hoping they leave the pdf file up until November of this year. Updating

    I finally won a prize last night. It feels like forever since I won anything. Of course, that's mostly because I haven't been entering near as many giveaways. I have been sick for over a month now. It started with an eye infection that last about 10 days, as soon as I went to the dr to get some antibotic ointment for that, I got a terrible cold. The cold triggered a terrible asthma attack. When that happens my lungs get stuck in a never ending attack. I finally broke down and went to the dr again because I couldn't walk across a room I was so out of air or talk even. I had to get a steriod shot, a breathing treatment, 2 new inhalers and steroids to take at home. I already feel a lot better with just the shot and the breathing treatment.

   With me being so sick and just one thing or another we are doing something this year, we have never done. We are eating out for Thanksgiving. The house is in the middle of remodeling and there just isn't a way to fix anything here. We don't even have an oven. I can't imagine not cooking a Thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings :(.  And now the dryer has tried to catch fire so we are having to dry clothes at the laundromat. I sure could use a cash prize or an appliance prize win :) Fingers cross, publishers clearing house lol.

Ramblings

Sorry, I haven't been posting as  many giveaways. I have been feeling sick for days now and I finally broke down and went to the dr yesterday. Basically he did nothing, He told me to take some allergy eye drops and gave me a prescription for antibotic eye ointment. So far my eyes feel no better and he didn't even recommend anything for my sinus problem. I know its not infection in my sinuses but it is driving me crazy. I must look worse than I feel even because my dad come by and when he was leaving he said to make sure I called if I got down and left a list of places to call if I couldn't get him on his phone. He has never in 45 yrs done that :).  lol

I haven't won much this month but I have gotten quite a few prizes in the mail. with at least 3 more coming over the next 3 days. I have officially gotten all the presents I am giving for Christmas for the grandbabies with a few for other children in the family also. Now I need to win some stuff for my daughters. It would be cool to have a complete Christmas due to giveaways.  I need to enter more giveaways but honestly haven't felt that great. My eyes hurt being on the computer and this old desktop just drags so much when entering giveaways. I would so love to win a new laptop or enough Amazon bucks to pay for one.. I miss mine so much. I only had a laptop a little over a year but but was it sure nice.
