Bromelain

 

    I am always trying new supplements etc to find something that helps improve my health in some way. Then I try it and it either works or it doesn't but I haven't been keeping a record so sometimes I can't remember if something worked or just exactly why it didn't work so I have decided to start putting on my blog what I am trying and what I expect to happen vs what does happen. 

This time I am trying bromelain. I bought the above brand from Walmart. I read something about bromelain and then went and watched some videos on Youtube. Here is what I learned it supposed to help with

1. good for reducing inflammation in the body. 
2. aid in digestion
3. alleviate minor aches and pains.

My main goal is reduce inflammation. I am starting with 1000mg per day. 

Some warnings while taking:  

Take blood thinners (anticoagulants), as bromelain can increase the risk of bleeding.

Are taking antibiotics (like amoxicillin or tetracycline), as bromelain can enhance their absorption

You can get bromelain from the core and stem of pineapple but its harder to extract so that is why I chose supplement form.  I will update in a couple weeks and let you know how it seems to be doing for me

Planet Fitness and Current Health

Every since I have moved back to WV, I have wanted a Planet Fitness to be near me. Who doesn't love $10 a month gym membership? Finally they have put one in about 5 minutes from my job. Only now my health is pretty awful. Most days I can hardly walk and I am stooped over little a 90 year old so I was thinking maybe I wouldn't be able to get any use out of a membership.  They are having a new promo that you can join for $1 so I started reading about it. I found out they have a Black Card Membership for $21.99 that I didn't know about. It offers tanning (not interested) hydromassage (now my interest is going up) massage chairs (sounding better and better) then I get to something called Total Body Enhancement. So I had to google to find out about that. Basically its red light therapy and vibration. Tons of links that say yay and tons that say nay. I am going to join just so I can try this out and then I will know yay or nay for myself.

I am super excited hoping it will help with the back pain, and inflammation in my body. I am going for the first time tomorrow so I will up date in a month to let you know how its working for me.

My Review:
I have always been the person who knew where every bathroom was at because I always had to go. I was getting up 2-3 times a night to go. So when I was asked to try Azo with Go less I was like oh yeah.  I had to take this product for 3 weeks before I could tell a difference. Now I don't have to get up multiple times at night to go. I find that in the day, I spend way less time having to head to the restroom than before.  I find that with Azo bladder control, I have more control over the go than before.

My Thoughts

My doctor told me that my triglycerides were elevated and wanted me to start taking fish oil supplements. I was offered this supplement to try out and was glad for the chance so I can see how it affects my triglyceride levels. My Review
I have read a lot about adreanal fatigue and have often thought I had every symptom and when I saw this DHEA to try I had to go for it. My Thoughts

I loved these socks. My living room floor is tile so you can't really wear socks and exercise because your feet tend to slide around. These socks fixed that problem because they have plastic footing on the bottom to make them antiskid. My Review

Some of you may know that I have been being treated for back problems for almost 3 years now. It had gotten so bad that there were days that I was totally incapacitated from pain. My Review

I was so excited when I got chosen to review these Core Fitness Zone Resistance Bands. The past 2 years I have had some major health issues that just have gotten progressively worse. I went to physical therapy and got part of them fixed but now I have rebuild my strength and energy back up. I have been working with these bands daily and am slowly working my way up. I love that they have progressive bands so as I get better I can move to the next band. You can use more than one band together up to 105 lbs. These bands are very well made with solid attachments. I have tried resistance bands before but they were more like latex ribbons, not nearly as sturdy.
